Sam Mellor hails from the historic golfing community of Lytham St Annes. He spent most of his formative years in golf at Heron’s Reach GC where he played for Fylde boys and attended Myerscough College where he played for the college team. He was the junior and men’s champion at Herons Reach before becoming the club’s assistant professional where he took the lead with junior golf development and growing the club in local schools. His next move was to the Trafford Golf Centre teaching juniors, ladies and corporate clients and in 2016 he worked for six months caddying and coaching on the European Tour gaining experience of tour life and the excitement and pressures of playing sport at the highest level. With a keen interest in fitness and how the body functions within the golf swing, Sam became certified at the Titleist Performance Institute for bio mechanical screening and believes this a key area to help improve all golfers. Now a Hale Barns resident, Sam is working with the future players on the Challenge Tour & the Web.com Tour and is based at Ringway Golf Club as the PGA Teaching Professional.
